Common birds around us

Hello, in this blog  I am going to tell about some common birds found around us.

1.House Sparrow ( passer domesticus )

      The house sparrow is the most common bird in India and mostly found 

all over. We don't need anywhere to find it. Mostly we can observe from our 

home, balcony or backyard. it is strongly associated with our habitat and can

live in urban and rural settings.

             House sparrow is a small size bird that has an approx length of 

16centimeters and a mass of 24-40gram. We can easily find out the difference

between males and females. Females are colored brownies and grey and males

have dark black, white and brown markings. It feeds mostly on seeds of grains 

and weeds.they commonly eat insects and small bugs.

2.Black drongo ( Dicrurus macrocercus )

Black drongo is a common resident bird in India. It is commonly found 

in agricultural areas and the forester light forest area. we can also found along 

with power or telephone lines. It is an all-black bird with a forked tail and 

measures 28centimeters.

 Black drongo is known for its aggressive behavior 

towards much larger birds such as crow and bird of prey. This behavior 

led to their former name of the king of crow.

3.red vented bulbul ( Pycnonotus cafer)

    Red-vented bulbul is a resident breeder across the Indian subcontinent. 

It can be easily identified by its short squarish crest on its head. The body 

has dark brown with a scaly pattern. The rump is white while the vent is red.

Red-vented bulbul is a bird of dry scrub, open forest, plains, and cultivated

lands. It feeds on fruits, petals of flowers, nectar, and insects.
